Cerebral Bore – Maniacal Miscreation

I don’t know about you, but to me Cerebral Bore sound like a bunch of pissed off Scots. What’s that you say…they are a bunch of pissed off Scotts? Well there you go. Actually, to me the singer sounds like a stone gateway sliding open after three millennia to reveal a furious demon trapped in a spinning cement mixer. In other words they sound pretty damn sick.

What’s that you say…the singer is a woman?? Holy Unexpected Developments, Batman, I am now terrified of this woman. She certainly holds her own against any and all extreme metal vocalists. I defy anyone to put her in her place. All I can say is damn. Damn. Hell hath no fury, right?

“Maniacal Miscreation” is definitely headed for a permanent spot on my brutal death metal playlist. I love that the album is well produced and properly mixed so you can take in all the different elements, particularly the vocals that stand out front and center. A good mix like this makes it easier to listen to the whole album without ear fatigue. I suppose because my ears aren’t working as hard to separate the basic elements.

Well I’ve finished my 33 minute spin cycle in a washing machine full of rocks and I’ve come up bleeding but smiling. I have no doubt Cerebral Bore are on their way to becoming a major player on the brutal death metal scene. An album like this cannot possibly go unnoticed. It will devour you.
